Install DreamSampler

Download the Instrument plugin and get it loading on a MIDI track in your DAW.

DreamSampler is the Instrument plugin for macOS and Windows, shipped as a native installer — a macOS .pkg or Windows .exe. It installs the VST3 (plus the Audio Unit on macOS) and a standalone app; your DAW recognises it as an instrument you can put on a MIDI track.

Get the download

On macOS

  1. 1Open the downloaded .pkg and follow the installer (signed & notarized).
  2. 2Pick which formats to install: VST3, Audio Unit (AU), and the standalone app are all pre-selected — deselect any you don't need.
  3. 3Open your DAW and rescan plugins so it picks up the new instrument.

On Windows

  1. 1Run the downloaded .exe installer and follow the prompts (it needs administrator rights).
  2. 2Choose which components to install: the VST3 plug-in and the standalone app are both pre-selected.
  3. 3Open your DAW and rescan plugins.
DreamSampler shows up wherever your DAW lists instrument plugins — drop it on an instrument/MIDI track, not an audio track.
