Style & genre exploration
Load a region from your track and audition it in a radically different genre — live, no wait time.
"What if this were drum & bass instead of a ballad" used to mean hours of reprogramming. Load a region into DreamSampler and audition an alternate version continuously, in real time.
How to do it
- 1Select the region you want to reimagine and export it as a file (or bounce the section).
- 2Add DreamSampler to an instrument track, click
Connect, and feed that region as the source. - 3Swap in a style for the target genre and update the prompt to match.
- 4Move Structure to trade between faithful-to-the-original and taking liberties; use Strength and Timbre to taste.
- 5Play the buffer to hear the alternate version evolve in real time.
- 6If a direction lands, record it to a new track; if it doesn't, try another prompt.
Tips
- Try directions instantly
- Genre shifts, key changes, and arrangement ideas all audition live.
- Keep what works
- Record the take the moment a direction lands and keep building.
- Lose nothing if it doesn't
- A dead end costs you a few seconds, not an afternoon.
