Vocal manipulation & chops

Reshape a vocal take into anything — from a subtly different version to a horn solo.

Load a vocal into DreamSampler as your input — it generates new material, and you hear the change as you move the controls. Vocalists can turn their ideas into instrumental lines without picking up another instrument.

How to do it

  1. 1Bounce your vocal take to a file.
  2. 2Add DreamSampler to an instrument track, click Connect, and feed the vocal as the source.
  3. 3For a subtle variation, keep Strength low; to push it toward an instrument, raise Strength and prompt for the target (for example, horn section).
  4. 4Use Structure to hold the phrasing and Timbre to move the character.
  5. 5In Slice mode, chop the take into pads for vocal chops; in Classic mode, play it as a pitched line.
  6. 6Record the result, or drag pads into your DAW.
