Vocal manipulation & chops
Reshape a vocal take into anything — from a subtly different version to a horn solo.
Load a vocal into DreamSampler as your input — it generates new material, and you hear the change as you move the controls. Vocalists can turn their ideas into instrumental lines without picking up another instrument.
How to do it
- 1Bounce your vocal take to a file.
- 2Add DreamSampler to an instrument track, click
Connect, and feed the vocal as the source. - 3For a subtle variation, keep Strength low; to push it toward an instrument, raise Strength and prompt for the target (for example,
horn section). - 4Use Structure to hold the phrasing and Timbre to move the character.
- 5In Slice mode, chop the take into pads for vocal chops; in Classic mode, play it as a pitched line.
- 6Record the result, or drag pads into your DAW.
Tips
- Stay close or go far
- Nudge the take for a subtle variation, or turn it into a different instrument entirely.
- Voice into instrument
- Hum a line and shape it into a horn, a synth, or a lead.
- Chop it
- Slice mode turns a phrase into a playable pad bank for chops.
