One request

Any client that speaks MPP or x402 can make a song. Once it pays, the API answers with the song and a token to fetch it. With a Daydream API key, it’s the same request with a Bearer header, on your plan’s songs.

How can an AI agent buy music?

It sends POST https://gen.daydream.live/v1/songs with a description of the music and no key. The answer is HTTP 402 with the price, $0.05 in USDC, offered over MPP and x402. The agent pays, sends the same request again, and gets the song back with an access token to fetch it. The song is instrumental, up to two minutes, with its MP3, WAV and five stems, and royalty-free for commercial use.

Does the agent need a Daydream account or an API key?

No. Paying per song or per pack needs only a wallet. An account is cheaper past a few songs: 10 songs a month are free, and the Songs plan is 500 songs for $4 a month, through an API key or the MCP server.

Can an agent pay by card?

Yes, for a pack: POST /v1/packs is 10 songs for $0.50, payable by card through Link’s agent wallet over MPP, or in USDC. A single song is USDC only.

What does the agent get back?

An MP3 (192 kbps) and a WAV (16-bit), both stereo at 48 kHz, and five stems as lossless FLAC: drums, bass, guitar, keys and other. The stems are made with the song, not split from the mix, so they add up to it exactly. The audio links need no key and don’t expire.

Can the music be used commercially?

Yes. Every song is royalty-free for commercial games, videos, ads, streams and apps, with no credit required.

What if a song fails?

A paid song that fails is refunded to the wallet that paid for it, on its own. On a pack, the song goes back to the pack. A payment that doesn’t go through takes nothing and answers with a new price to pay.

How long does a song take?

A few seconds once it’s next in line. Poll GET /v1/songs/{id} every 2 seconds until it’s done; the stems follow a few seconds after the mix. Up to three songs can be in line at once.

Can it make songs with vocals?

No. Daydream makes instrumental music. Words asking for vocals or lyrics are dropped from the description, and so are artist names.

What are MPP and x402?

Two open ways for a program to pay for an HTTP request. The server answers 402 Payment Required with a price; the client pays and sends the request again with proof of payment. Daydream accepts both: MPP with USDC on Tempo or Base, or a card through Link, and x402 with USDC on Base.

Can I use it from Claude or ChatGPT instead?

Yes. Connect Claude to https://gen.daydream.live/mcp as a custom connector, or add the Daydream app in ChatGPT (https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ada33e71edc8191a47e362e40f5aba0), and a song described in the chat plays there with its stems. The API docs are at https://gen.daydream.live/docs.
