Steps

Refinement of audio after initial generation.

Refinement is conducted in passes; each refines the audio a little further. Fewer passes reduces update latency, but the resulting audio will be a little rougher; more passes will increase update latency but provide a more nuanced and refined result.

Why it matters

The main quality-versus-latency trade. If you're not satisfied with the output quality, play around with this knob.
