Playing it
Mode
How the keyboard maps the buffer: one slice per key, or the whole clip pitched chromatically.
This is the keyboard mapping, the MODE in the buffer bar. Slice chops the buffer and puts one piece under each key, like a drum rack. Classic puts the whole clip under every key and pitches it, like a sampler patch.
Why it matters
Slice for kits and chops; Classic for melodic playing. It's the single biggest decision about how the thing feels to play.
