Scrub & loop
Drag the outer rim to scrub. Shift-drag to draw a loop section.
The rim is a transport. Once a loop exists you can drag it to move it, drag either end to resize it, and hold Alt to ignore the grid while you do.
Why it matters
This is the fastest way to sit on one bar and hear a knob change against it, instead of listening to the whole buffer go by each time.
